Thanks Matthew. Video Copilot is a great site and Andrew is awesome. Anyhow, I did use chipmunk but only for the collision detection. The shapes body is not added to the space, therefore are not affected by gravity. In the step for chipmunk I manually move the shapes body in the y position. When each shape is created, I set its drop rate with a random number so they are all dropping at different speeds. Of course each object has its own min and max for the speed so some objects naturally drop faster than others.

Good Luck!

Hey Patrick,

Awesome games! Pretty sweet you work at video copilot. I've loved Andrews works for a long time. I was wondering if maybe you could shoot some hints my way on how you did the falling food / animals in watercule. Did you use chipmunk for that or just update their y position every frame? Thanks!
